Well we recently went on a rather long road trip - not because we were travelling a long distance, rather because we had to wait until evening to arrive (and we left early)... so we made lots of stops along the way. In order to get not only us, but also all our necessities loaded into our vehicle, we had to strap a number of things on the roof! As we got going, up started our Bumble Bee Band. Those straps vibrated a whole lot and hummed just like a swarm of bees following us up the road. I had to wonder what the cars we passed thought of our band. We even had a lead singer. Every so often one of the straps up front vibrated louder than the rest, just like a lead singer. Thankfully, with the cold and fog we were travelling in during the morning, the straps frosted up and gave us a couple hours of a break - by the time we got to our destination they were singing full power all over again.

Finally there. This was stop #6 Within about 15 minutes of arriving and unloading the vehicle, we were visited by about 5 deer that lingered for about 15 minutes.
So when you make a 5 hour trip in 9 hours, you make a lot of stops. The ones I don't have photos for include #1 Lethbridge and #5 Cranbrook.
As for my joy... it is full. I thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of the kids as we travelled, the moments of exploration, the beauty of what we usually consider summer scenery covered in a frosty blanket of snow. It was too cold to enjoy for long, but it was beautiful none the less, and of course, the joy of reaching our destination! That was the best part. There is nothing like a long journey brought to a close in a beautiful mountain area filled with wildlife and spectacular scenery.
Today my three youngest attended an activity in which they got to go to the city, and go shopping at the dollar store! Well I LOVE the dollar stores. I can always find something that appeals to my crafty nature and my budget! Anyway, for this activity, each of the girls was given a $5 spending limit! You wouldn't think they could come home with much for that amount of money but each of them bought a pair of slippers, and a whole pile of other interesting things. They had so much fun, choosing and deciding, pondering and selecting the things that would bring each of them the most satisfaction - and were they ever excited to share their finds with the rest of us!
