'Tis the Season for Christ

A lot of my time this week has been spent on putting together my Christ centered Christmas advent calendar. Chad cut the board for me on Tuesday and I have been working on the pieces. I decided to theme it with snowflakes. I used some snowflake paper mixed with Christmas patterns and then I cut out a whole pile of snowflakes using my cricut. I painted my board black then spattered white and silver paint onto it (Funny, it looks just like a roaster). Then I modge podged the snowflakes onto the board. To complete the background I stamped snowflakes with glue and added glitter to get shimmering yet iridescent snowflakes on my background board. I really like the board, I hope it doesn't turn out to be too busy for the project. I have laid out the pictures of Christ just to get an idea of what it will look like.

Tomorrow I will punch holes in the cards, make the title and pound in the nails for hanging each card. I'll take some better pictures then. I love to create things, especially things like this that will help us keep the true focus of Christmas better this year. We are so blessed to have available such beautiful art of the Savior. Each photo card has sayings on the back of it. As I was assembling the cards, I couldn't help but read the messages, and revel in the knowledge I have for myself that the Savior lives and loves me. That knowledge brings great peace into my life and joy to my heart.
