Here’s a thought on Elder Bednar's conference talk, “Abide in Me, and I in You; Therefore Walk with Me”. He talks a fair bit about nourishing the seed and allowing it to grow into a tree (the footnotes add quite a bit more to this theme). As I studied this week, I was reminded that if you cut branches laden with apple blossoms and take them inside to enjoy, they will NEVER produce fruit. They had the potential, but without being connected to the tree, that potential is lost. Elder Bednar lists so many blessings of abiding in Christ… it is similar for us as the branches of the tree, if we are in any way severed from Him, we can never realize those beautiful and desirable fruits in our lives. We need the Savior… full-time.
