Five years ago I went to work outside my home for the first time in 25 years. It was part-time and manageable, especially since my children were almost all raised. It has blessed us not only financially, but it has provided benefits and led to additional job opportunities for my children that they may not have had otherwise. One of those jobs, which I took on primarily so that my girls could work with me, is no longer needed for that purpose. I have been able to let that one go just this month!
I am switching what I do. I will now be working part-time in our local school which is only a block away. I am excited to be able to walk to work, slip home for my breaks during the summer, and to maintain my savings goals.
I am so thankful for this opportunity. I will be able to take care of my home and yard better by working so close. I am blessed to eliminate travel time. I have a certain amount of flexibility granted so that I can take care of my family still as needs arise. I am also looking forward to getting to better know those that I work with and for. I've also been blessed to feel absolute peace and calm about this change. I know that this is where I need to be at this time and I'm thankful to the Lord for a job that seems so personalized to my needs.
