Water Games

Spring seemed to take its time in coming this year, but when the warm days started coming they felt great! At our house we ushered in the feel of summer with some water games. First we filled a bunch of water balloons and had a water balloon toss in the back yard.

Next we got out the bottle rocket and started launching it off. In the picture below you can see the water trail left as the rocket darts into the sky. It was pretty fun playing with it.

The kids had a great time playing in the water. Here is a picture story of them throwing water balloons at each other.

I was recently reading an article that encouraged families to host and participate in back yard games as a family. This is a great family activity. I love this principle because it is easy, convenient and really easy on the budget! The back yard is always close by and everyone can participate to whatever degrees they  wish. I love to watch my children play together. It is a thrill for a parent to see their children enjoying one another's company. 

I think I take the most pictures of things that bring joy into my life, and my children and their activities definitely fit into that category. Not only was this a beautiful day in May, but it was made all the more beautiful through the music of children's laughter.
